WHEN I GROWN UP

Charles wears feather dress by Alexander McQueen; diamond and gold Chandra necklace by Cartier; Georgian yellow-gold open-sphere necklace by Bentley & Skinner; all other jewellery Charles own

At the age of 16 Charles Guislain already has his hand in the fashion cookie jar.
This Parisian boy first feel in love with the fashion world when he witnessed Hedi Slimane's Spring/ Summer 07 Dior menswear. Although it wasn't the entire line that was the doorway for this fashion icon to be. It was a simple pair of suspenders. At only 13 his love for the minimalism of the spenders gave him the inspiration to start drawing. His presence at the fashion shows is already turning the head of the older generation. Though he is a thin and young boy he dose not want to be considered a model in any sense.
His true passion lies in telling his story through his creativity.

I personally look forward to seeing what his articulate mind will produce.

IN NEW-YORK IN SEPTEMBER?

ATTENTION, SHOPPERS!
THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED RETAILER AND EVENTS ROSTER IS UNVEILED AT FASHIONSNIGHTOUT.COM

MORE THAN 700 STORES TO CELEBRATE THE SINGLE LARGEST SHOPPING EVENT IN NEW YORK CITY HISTORY ON SEPTEMBER 10, 2009

DESIGNERS, CELEBRITIES, PARTIES, AND MORE!

Stores throughout New York City’s five boroughs will host celebrity and designer appearances, musical and Broadway performances, styling seminars, fashion shows, and photo exhibits, and will offer limited-edition Fashion’s Night Out merchandise, gifts with purchase, refreshments, and more!

Fashion’s Night Out invites shoppers to visit http://fashionsnightout.com/ to discover what their favorite store, designer, or brand has up its sleeve for the evening. Fashionistas can also take advantage of daily updates on Fashion’s Night Out’s Facebook page and Twitter (FNOnyc) feed.

“On the evening of September 10, Fashion’s Night Out, spanning all five boroughs, will highlight why New York City’s vibrant and diverse fashion-and-retail industry is admired throughout the world,” said George Fertitta, CEO, NYC & Company. “The citywide celebration will showcase the unique shopping opportunities available to New Yorkers and visitors, while encouraging retail support and giving back to important NYC causes.”

“Little did I think when the idea of Fashion’s Night Out was first dreamed up this past March during the Paris collections that we would have over 700 and counting retailers, designers, and brands joining us on the night of September 10,” said Anna Wintour, editor in chief, Vogue. “Of course, I’ve always known the New York fashion industry to rise brilliantly to a challenge, but I am absolutely thrilled, awed, and more than a little proud that it has reacted so brilliantly to this initiative. There is so much planned that we could shop till dawn and still not see and do everything.”

“Fashion’s Night Out is that rare opportunity to meet the person behind the label,” said Steven Kolb, CFDA Executive Director. “Some of the best known as well as up-and-coming talent will be out and about all across New York during the event.”

Designed to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, and boost the economy, Fashion’s Night Out will be the single largest shopping event in New York City history. Created by Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York, the initiative on September 10 will also mark the support of two important New York charities: The September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center will receive 40 percent of the proceeds from the sale of a limited-edition Fashion’s Night Out T-shirt at participating retailers. The NYC AIDS fund will benefit from a citywide clothing drive (sponsored by IMG) that will begin on the 10th at various retail and public locations, and will culminate on September 12, 2009. ARCHITECTURAL-CLOTHES

Bisector Human;
An arrangement of layering that produces an actively, magnificent structure.
The clothing reminds me of a combination of Egyptian hieroglyphics and futuristic armor.
All together the line will make the wearer look like a force to be reckoned with. The personification of these architectural beauties create the sense of layering that I always am interested in.

Alexander Wang Jamie Creeper Boot
These high-top, shiny croc-skin leather boots are astonishing.
There's pointed toes, zippers, an extra long tongue (that fold over beautifully) and buckles.
Again I'm in love with another pair of shoes.
Alexander Wang you are going to make my closet very happy.

FAIRY-TAILS && NIGHTMARES

Gareth Moody has worked for brands like Ksubi (formerly Tsubi). He's flying solo now with what he named Chronicles of Never. Its another uni-sex line. There is a consistant use of leather, cotton, denim, knits.

"Tailoring consists of suits, vests and trenches in mercerized wool or metal-cotton combination. Subverting the idea of formal suiting, Moody attributes raw edges and utilizes the memory of metal for crumple and texture.

Knitwear takes various forms: the heavily draped poncho and the boiled wool vest being key. Knit is also paired with soft, raw leather that drapes on the frame and the leather shoes have evolved into a series of new and wearable cobbler-esque styles.

New denim offerings for both man and woman come in a range of fits and washes with a shared paired-back aesthetic. Maintaining a slim leg, waists and crotches are offered are various heights with a dark palette of grey, ink-navy and a waxed black."
